We’re rolling around to the holiday season once again and Big Lakes FCSS is already working on this year’s hamper program.

Each year, residents graciously donate to this program so that FCSS is able to distribute food hampers and toys to individuals and families within our own communities who may need a little extra help at the holidays. We usually assemble and deliver between 60 and 80 hampers within the County.

Since this is completely funded by donations, we ask for contributions of cash in order to buy groceries that make up healthy, standardized hamper boxes for the recipients.  We also ask for donations of new toys or cash to purchase new toys so every kid has something under the tree. There will be a toy donation box set up in the County Administration office lobby. This year we require more gifts for babies and teens.

Monetary donations receive official receipts for your taxes.  ANY amount helps, so please consider this program that benefits residents of your own community when giving this year!

Drop donations to any FCSS office or mail to Big Lakes County at Box 239, High Prairie, AB.  T0G 1E0.

If you know of someone, within the County boundaries, who might need a hamper, please advise them to inquire at their local FCS office for an application form or call: Joussard – 780-776-3811, Grouard – 780-751-3806, Enilda- 780-523-5925 or High Prairie – 790-523-0062.

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS IS 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2018.  No exceptions.

All information is kept confidential.

All hamper recipients MUST RESIDE within the boundaries of Big Lakes County.

If you or someone you know within County boundaries may qualify for a hamper, please contact an FCSS office for an application form.   If you need help with the process, please let your FCSS worker know!  As always, applications are kept strictly confidential.
