NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING - LAND USE BYLAW AMENDMENT

Council for Big Lakes County is considering proposed amendments to the Big Lakes County Land Use Bylaw No. 03-2017. The purpose of proposed Bylaw No. 15-2020 is to amend the following sections regulating fences in hamlet residential districts.
➢ Section 6.19.4 Fences and Screening be amended to read “In front yards, no fence shall be higher than 1.8 meters (6.0 feet)
➢ Section 6.19.5 Be deleted.
➢ Section 6.19.7 Be deleted.

Copies of the proposed Land Use Bylaw Amendment may be examined in the office of the County Administration Building between the hours of 8:15 a.m. to noon and 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Any person, group of persons, or person representing them who claims to be affected by the proposed bylaw amendment may make an oral or written submission to Council for consideration. If you would like to make a presentation to Council, contact Big Lakes County at 780-523-5955.

The Public Hearing will be held on August 12, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Big Lakes County Administration Office.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING – LAND USE BYLAW AMENDMENT

Council for Big Lakes County is considering proposed amendments to the Big Lakes County Land Use Bylaw No. 03-2017. The purpose of proposed Bylaw No. 13-2020 is to increase the number of recreational vehicles allowed on lots greater than 2.5 acres in size within the Communal Recreation District by amending the Land Use Bylaw as follows:

  1. Add the following to Section 6.34 Siting of Recreational Vehicles

6.34.8    Notwithstanding Section 6.34.7, the number of recreational vehicles allowed on a Communal Recreation (CMR) District lot/unit greater than 2.5 acres in size shall be limited to four (4).

  1. Amend Section 7.5.2 (Uses) Communal Recreation (CMR) District as follows:
